Privacy Policy
When you register we store the data you give us: your name, email address, password (stored only as a salted hash — we can never read it), and the profile details you choose to add: photo, house, role, years, current location and a short bio. If you use the community, we also store your messages, connections, wall posts, events and RSVPs. If you sign in with LinkedIn, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from LinkedIn — nothing else. All of this is processed for one purpose only: running this community. There is no advertising, no tracking, no analytics and no profiling.
All data is stored on servers of cyon GmbH, Basel, Switzerland, and is not transferred elsewhere. Concrete measures we take: all traffic is encrypted (TLS/HTTPS); passwords are stored as salted bcrypt hashes; sign-in tokens expire after 30 days; database credentials are never part of the public code; access to the database is restricted to the application. No system is perfectly secure — but these are the measures actually in place.
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account yourself at any time ("Delete account" in your profile). Deletion is immediate and removes your profile, your photo, your connections, your messages (both sent and received), your events, your RSVPs, and everything you shared on the feed — your posts (with their comments and reactions), the comments you wrote elsewhere and the reactions you gave. Backups made by the hosting provider expire automatically within a few weeks.
We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone. No third party receives member data — the only exceptions are the Swiss hosting provider (cyon, as our technical processor) and, only if you choose to use it, LinkedIn during sign-in.
Under Swiss data protection law (revFADP) and, where applicable, the GDPR, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time: info@swissprimetaste.ch.
